Jurong River Water Quality and Ecological Restoration Project

This project was aimed to solve the urban stormwater pollution, as well as combined sewer overflows (CSO) to the River flowing through the half million populated city centre. The project is within 7km of the river section in the main urban area with a 198km2 of river basin area. Tasks included carrying out an in-depth investigation on the impact of urban stormwater pollution and CSO issues from the combined system, quantifying the pollutant quantity and characteristics under varying rainfall events from the combined sewer overflow (CSO). Key engineering measures recommended includes 2 storage tanks, upgrading wastewater interceptors with 15 constructed wetlands along the river bank.
